Traders, godowns and apartments in Yeshwanthpur

Yeshwanthpur on Tumkur Road is a busy junction of trade and transport: a major railway station, the APMC yard, wholesale traders and their godowns, small industries towards Peenya and some of the city’s large apartment complexes. Each of these has very different security needs.

Traders near the APMC yard want their godowns, loading points and billing counters watched, because stock moves fast and shortages need to be checked against footage. Apartments need gates, lifts, basements and long boundary walls covered. Offices and shops along Tumkur Road and the station area want entrances and counters in clear view.

The railway station and bus stops draw constant crowds, and shops around them deal with high footfall from early morning. For them we put a camera directly over the billing counter and one on the entrance at face height, so a clear image is available if a dispute or theft happens. Apartment complexes in the area are often large and older, and we regularly plan step-by-step upgrades from old cameras to a new IP system without leaving the campus uncovered.

Local factors we design around

• Godowns benefit from longer recording, so stock disputes found weeks later can still be checked.
• Loading points need cameras placed high enough to see inside trucks and over sacks.
• Large complexes with many towers usually need a fibre backbone and a central NVR room.
• Dust and heavy vehicles near the yard mean outdoor cameras need sturdy housings and regular cleaning.
• Old systems in large complexes can be replaced in stages, tower by tower, to avoid gaps in coverage.
• A monitor at the security cabin plus phone access for the committee works well for large associations.
• Traders with more than one godown or shop can watch every site in a single app, switching between locations from the phone.
