Cafés, restaurants and homes in Kalyan Nagar

Kalyan Nagar and the neighbouring HRBR and HBR Layouts have become one of North-East Bangalore’s food and café streets, with restaurants, bakeries, salons and boutiques on the main roads and the Outer Ring Road. Behind them are planned layouts of independent houses, many rebuilt with rental floors, and mid-size apartment blocks.

Cafés and restaurants usually ask for the entrance, billing counter, seating area and kitchen, plus the back lane where deliveries arrive. Home owners want the gate and car parking covered, and a clear view of the road because two-wheeler theft and parcel theft come up often in busy layouts. Salons and boutiques need the counter and entrance covered while keeping service areas private.

Many homes here were rebuilt in the last decade, so there is usually a duct or a hidden route we can use for cables. Where there is not, we use slim surface conduit along the edges of walls and ceilings. Cafés and salons prefer small dome or turret cameras that do not stand out against the interior design, while the road-facing camera can be a sturdier outdoor model.

Typical Kalyan Nagar systems

Points we cover in Kalyan Nagar

• Two-wheeler parking on the road needs a camera with a narrow lens aimed along the parking line, not one wide camera trying to see everything.
• Delivery and parcel drop-offs at the gate are easier to sort out with a video door phone linked to the cameras.
• Busy food streets mean late-evening glare from headlights and signboards; WDR cameras keep faces visible at the door.
• Salons must keep treatment and changing areas out of view; we agree camera angles with the owner before fixing them.
• Restaurants on the Outer Ring Road should keep the recorder on power backup, because cuts at dinner time are when gaps hurt most.
