Bungalows, food streets and apartments in Frazer Town

Frazer Town, also called Pulikeshi Nagar, sits close to the city centre with Cox Town, Cooke Town, Richards Town and Benson Town around it. The area has old bungalows with large compounds, newer apartment buildings that replaced some of them, and the restaurants and food stalls of Mosque Road that draw big crowds, especially during festival seasons.

Bungalow owners usually want the long compound wall, the gate and the driveway covered, along with the rear service entrance. Apartment buildings need the gate, lobby, lifts and parking on one system. Restaurants and bakeries ask for clear coverage of the counter, entrance and kitchen, and a camera for the busy pavement outside where crowding can lead to disputes.

Many bungalow compounds here have more than one gate and a long driveway, so we check where people actually walk and where cars stop. A camera at each gate captures faces, while a wider camera covers the driveway and parking. For restaurants, we keep the recorder in the office or a locked cupboard, connected to power backup, so a power cut at peak time does not stop recording.

Typical Frazer Town systems

Planning points in Frazer Town

• Large old trees around bungalows block camera views and drop leaves on domes; we pick mounting points with a clear line of sight.
• Festival crowds on Mosque Road need a camera with enough resolution to identify faces at a distance, typically 4 MP or higher.
• Heritage-style buildings look better with turret cameras in a matching colour rather than large bullet cameras.
• Long compound walls benefit from line-crossing alerts sent to the owner’s phone at night.
• Rear service entrances used by drivers and helpers should have a camera inside the gate, so the face is caught as the person walks in.
