Sparsh, Godrej, Uniview and Other CCTV Brands You’ll See in India

A guide to CCTV brands beyond the big names that appear in Indian quotes and online listings — Sparsh, Godrej, Uniview (UNV) and others — what to know about each, and a checklist for judging any less familiar brand.

Beyond the big four

Most CCTV sold in India comes from a handful of large brands, but quotes and online listings often include names many buyers have not heard of. Some are established Indian manufacturers focused on government projects; some are global brands with a small Indian presence; and some are unbranded imports with a label. Knowing which is which helps you judge a quote.

Sparsh

Sparsh is an Indian CCTV and electronic security manufacturer founded in 2002, long known for government and public-sector projects. It makes IP cameras, NVRs and analog products, and in 2024 announced a push into the retail market with AI features such as person and vehicle detection. The company says it certified its CCTV portfolio under India’s security requirements early; as with any brand, check the certification of the exact model you are offered.

Godrej

Godrej is best known in security for safes, strong rooms and locks, and also offers security cameras and related products through its security solutions business. For buyers who already trust Godrej safes and locks, it can be a familiar name. Compare specific camera models, recorder software and support with other brands as you would for anyone.

Uniview (UNV)

Uniview is a Chinese video surveillance manufacturer based in Hangzhou, known internationally for IP cameras, NVRs and video management, and widely used in some project markets. India’s certification rules apply model by model to all network cameras; press reports in April 2026 said network cameras from Chinese manufacturers were in practice not receiving certification. Ask for proof of certification before buying any Uniview IP model.

A checklist for any less familiar brand

  • Is there an Indian company or distributor you can contact, with an address and support line?
  • Is the exact IP camera model registered and certified for sale in India?
  • Does the brand publish firmware updates and security advisories?
  • Is the app maintained, with two-factor login and no need for port forwarding?
  • Are warranty terms clear, and who handles replacements locally?
  • Do local installers know the product and its software?

Why it matters

A camera system is used for years. A brand that disappears takes its app, firmware updates and warranty with it. A model without certification may not be legally sellable. Choosing a brand with a track record and local support protects the investment as much as the specifications do.

An example

A school in Yelahanka received three CCTV quotes, one using a brand none of the trustees recognised at a much lower price. Checking against this list showed the brand had no Indian office, no published firmware updates and no certification record for the quoted models. The school chose a known brand with certified models and a local service partner.
