What separates good from bad installations
In practice, the brand matters less than three decisions the installer makes:
- Correct sizing — a motor rated comfortably above the gate’s weight and length, with a duty cycle that matches how often the gate is used.
- Safety — photocells, obstacle detection and correctly set force on every installation.
- Gate preparation — straight track, free-running rollers or hinges, proper end stops.

Warranty and spares
Gate motors last many years when sized and installed correctly, but control boards, remotes, photocells and batteries will need replacement at some point. Before buying, ask how long the brand supports spare parts for the model, whether boards are stocked in Bangalore, and what the warranty covers — many warranties exclude lightning and water damage. A local AMC provider who knows the brand matters as much as the badge on the motor.
